Twins in Men's Journal: making of...

Something for the boys. Iballa and Daida Ruano Moreno made it into another well known US publication. The twins just appeared in the march edition of Men's Journal, sharing cover page with Bruce Willis: MJ: "TWIN POWERS - Just as Venus and Serena overtook tennis, two high-flying Spanish windsurfers are leaving the timid in their wake - and making their sport worth watching again."
Like for many other similar stories windgirls.com contributed information and contacts. Autor Eric H. had interviewed windgirls.com editor Andy Aichinger about them, too, obviously not daring to mention the publication he was working for...

Diva Camp 2003
The Neil Pryde/Starboard Women’s International Formula Windsurfing Camp

Following last years success, we are happy to invite all women who whish to improve their Formula Windsurfing skills to join the Diva camp at Lake Garda, Italy. Anyone can join – no previous racing experience is needed!

Last year 14 women from 8 different countries joined the camp to improve their skills, tune their equipment and share experiences. All levels were present - from first-timers on Formula boards to the best girls in the world. There was also plenty of time for everybody to get to know each other better, both during the camp and afterwards during the Euro-cup, in which most of the girls decided to participate.

The 4-day long camp will be coached by Brian Røgild (Starboard) and Nikolaj Kruppa (Neil Pryde). At the camp you can improve your technique, board speed, tactics, starts and much more. Participation fee is 100 euro, which covers training, storage of equipment and accommodation.
The camp will take place before the Women’s Euro Cup in Malcesine from the 22nd to the 25th of April 2003. Lake Garda is the number one European Formula Windsurfing test center. Blessed with stabile wind conditions and surrounded by mountains it is also one of the most beautiful places to train and surely worth a visit. The number of entries is limited to 25 women maximum.

ASP Tour starts on Australia's Gold Coast

The 2003 women's ASP World Championship Tour begins in style on Australia's Gold Coast, March 4th - 16th, with the 5th Annual Roxy Pro. The elite top 17 rated women in the world, plus wildcard entrant - Lisa Andersen will make up the prestigious field.
The Roxy Pro is a mobile tournament with organizers having access to an array of waves throughout the real 'Surfer's Paradise'. The event will be based at Snapper Rocks yet can travel as far north as Stradbroke Island and to Ballina in the south, in search of optimum conditions. Venues such as Snapper Rocks, Australias longest wave, Burleigh Heads and Kirra, will hold priority, as their long right-hand barrels forever remain a surfers dream setup.

The 2002 Roxy Pro saw Lynette McKenzie (Aus) begin an extremely successful year in fantastic form, taking out the first major WCT tournament of the season at Snapper Rocks. Jaqueline Silva (Brz), finished runner-up, and Roxy team riders Chelsea Georgeson (Aus) and Kate Skarratt (Aus) finishing equal third.
With US$60,000 prize money on offer, as well as an early 2003 WCT ratings lead for the eventual winner, you can bet all competitors will be turning up the heat for the 2003 Roxy Pro. (source: Roxy)
