Windgirls & The Windsurfer, who could be President

Windgirls.com Magazine expresses its support for Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry. As an international online magazine with strong ties to the US, we believe very strongly in the fact, that the Senator from Massachusetts would be the best man for the White House right now.
We have been watching the growing gap between the US and its oldest friends, especially in Europe during the war in Iraq, from an international point of view. We think that US foreign policy indeed has been "irresponsible and arrogant" in recent times, as Kerry has called it. And we as Windgirls.com Magazine want this to change.

In our permanent quest for a peaceful world we understand that America needs a President who is well aware of the military power of the US from an experienced point of view. A President who knows the terror of war from own experience and therefore will do his best in order to avoid war in the future. And a President who stands for protection of our environment, of mother nature we (not only) as windsurfers life in.

Last but not least: Yes, John Kerry is a windsurfer (and kiteboarder)!! And all the credits go to American Windsurfer Magazine for a prophetic interview with John Kerry back in 1998. "The WINDSURFER who could be PRESIDENT" can be found - and it is well worth reading! - at www.americanwindsurfer.com/JohnKerry

Mistral News

2004 Mistral World Championship website now live
Cesme, Izmir, Turkey 8-18 April 2004

This is the last qualification event for nations wishing to qualify to race in the Olympic Regatta next August. Many nations will also be using this event as part of their own selection process to choose their representative windsurfers to join their Olympic sailing team. Now we're on the final straight. Training regimes are being fined tuned. Final preparations are in hand. There is all to play for. Daily reports and event images at mistralworlds.com.

Merret wins Mistral Womens

Faustine Merret (FRA) had been announced the winner of the Womens Mistral class at the Sail Melbourne Regatta on Port Phillip Bay in january. She managed to win the regatta by some nine points from her nearest rival, Jessica Crisp (AUS) with 26 points and Allison Shreeve (AUS) on 38.

Merret, who sailed a superb series that included top three places in all but the last race, dropped the fifth place as her worst result, and really had no peers at this regatta, despite facing some of the top ranked girls in the class.

Allison Shreeve finished second in this last race, the heavier airs more suited to her style. ‘I am OK about missing out on the Olympics, I know my time will come, I’ve just got better and better, so I am happy about that. Sure, I’m disappointed, but that’s sailing,’ the stoic 21 year old commented.

Crisp, who has won the battle for Olympic points, finished her day on the windy course on Port Phillip Bay with a third place and was looking forward to celebrating her victory tonight with ‘maybe just one drink,’ she said.
