Elite Wave Challenge Due to the gravitating success of the Elite Wave Challenge in 2005, the event is being repeated with magnitude in 2006. EWC was previously supported by the best french windsurfers, who have confirmed their participation in the 2006 event. ... The Elite Wave Challenge transpires from May 12 - 22 2006 in Essaouira, Morocco and the challenge is now open to all willing participants within Europe. This is not simply a windsurfing contest it is a benevolent adventure, which combines sporting challenges, solidarity and a sharing of the passion. The challenge is comprised of four phases.
EWC SHARING - April 2006 The authors and/or creators of the best articles, videos, weblogs, websites and photography, published via the EWC internet site, will participate and be coached, by the professional windsurfers, during this unique adventure in Essaouira. EWC DISCOVERY - May 12-22 2006 - Essaouira The EWC windsurfers will meet with, assist and develop the talent of the children of Essouira, who share in the passion of windsurfing.EWC SOLIDARITY . - May 2006 - Essaouira The EWC team will assist the Essaouira Mogador Association in developing nautical activities and providing windsurfing equipment. The aim being to enhance the growth and development of this invigorating sport, resulting in empowered participation of the young locals and promoting tourism. This act of solidarity could not have been realized without the support of our sponsor Starboard, market leaders in the manufacture of windsurfing boards; dynamic and committed to the development of the new generation with the "Prokids" program. Each year Essaouira is a welcome host to hundreds of windsurfers from around the world, who are enticed by the wonderful wind and wave conditions. In return we are offering the children of Essaouria a means to discover and share in our passion. The Extreme Wave Challenge is the brain child of Mickael Richard and his support team.
