Elite Wave Challenge

Due to the gravitating success of the Elite Wave Challenge in 2005, the event is being repeated with magnitude in 2006. EWC was previously supported by the best french windsurfers, who have confirmed their participation in the 2006 event. ... The Elite Wave Challenge transpires from May 12 - 22 2006 in Essaouira, Morocco and the challenge is now open to all willing participants within Europe. This is not simply a windsurfing contest it is a benevolent adventure, which combines sporting challenges, solidarity and a sharing of the passion. The challenge is comprised of four phases.

EWC PASSION April 2006 - French Normandie / Essaouira During the trials in Normandy, the amateur competitors stand a chance of winning a ticket to participate with the professionals in Essaouira.

EWC SHARING - April 2006 The authors and/or creators of the best articles, videos, weblogs, websites and photography, published via the EWC internet site, will participate and be coached, by the professional windsurfers, during this unique adventure in Essaouira.

EWC DISCOVERY - May 12-22 2006 - Essaouira The EWC windsurfers will meet with, assist and develop the talent of the children of Essouira, who share in the passion of windsurfing.

EWC SOLIDARITY . - May 2006 - Essaouira The EWC team will assist the Essaouira Mogador Association in developing nautical activities and providing windsurfing equipment. The aim being to enhance the growth and development of this invigorating sport, resulting in empowered participation of the young locals and promoting tourism. This act of solidarity could not have been realized without the support of our sponsor Starboard, market leaders in the manufacture of windsurfing boards; dynamic and committed to the development of the new generation with the "Prokids" program.

Each year Essaouira is a welcome host to hundreds of windsurfers from around the world, who are enticed by the wonderful wind and wave conditions. In return we are offering the children of Essaouria a means to discover and share in our passion. The Extreme Wave Challenge is the brain child of Mickael Richard and his support team. Roxy Training Camp Tenerife 2006 presented by VW

News from the Moreno twins: "Here we are once again organizing the Girls Camp 2006. Last year we had areally short notice and we could organize something with only two months of time notice. This year we are organizing everything ahead on time so the news can be out there for everyone. The Camp will take place in El Medano, Tenerife, from May 15th until 21st.
For most of the girls it will be a great warm up prior the big PWA events. We will also have newcomers joining in and they will pretty much get toknow and learn with other World Cup Girls like Nayra Alonso, Silvia Alba, Junko Nagoshi, Anna Marie Reichmann, etc. There will be a total of 35 girls in the Camp coming from all over the world (most of them I do not even know yet) with free transport, accommodation and food. Mainly they all come to improve their sailing, get to know more girls andmost importantly HAVE FUN. If you have any questions for this or any other matter, please contact me or my sister any time."

UKWA - First Event of the Season

SLALOM 1 - HAYLING ISLAND - SATURDAY 25 / SUNDAY 26 MARCH, 2006
Many of the UK's top national windsurfers will be competing in the first Slalom Racing event of the season, which gets underway on Hayling Island with Round 1 of the National Slalom Championships. From past experience this is a very popular venue and an even bigger turnout is expected for the 2006 season. Many senior racers (and a few Internationals) will be focusing on a slalom campaign, and the growth of a junior racing division bodes well for the future. Just one change to the fleets for 2006 - the junior fleet will be replaced by Techno 293. Other junior racers will be able to race with the Challenge Fleet - as a prize and title division.

WEST BEACH, Hayling Island Seafront: The Race Office will be based within INN ON THE BEACH, on the water's edge with a large deck for spectators to watch the racing; also bars and a conservatory upstairs with fantastic views of the Solent.
Registration Saturday 25th: 08:00-10:00, Sailors briefing 10.30, First possible start: 11:00
