The Moloka’i Ocean Challenge
The 4th Annual Molokai Challenge will be held on July 22nd from Kaanapali Maui to Molokai. The website is up at www.molokaichallenge.com where registrations forms can be downloaded. For early Molokai Challenge registrations the cost is $100 which includes o/w ferry, Molokai transportation, food at the event, event shirt and camping permit, container/platforms to and from Maui. All proceeds goes to Youth In Motion, a non profit organization in helping this event grow and towards the existing free programs that Youth In Motion offers to the Youth. Those programs are currently American Red Cross swimming and other ARC programs, windsurfing, sailing, kayaking, and triathlon. This is offered free to 11-15yrs but others outside the age group are also welcome to join in. The Molokai Challenge is open to all wind powered crafts in the celebration of youth opportunities. In part of the celebrations we have University of Hawaii retuning for their 4th year with sporting clinics, Miss Molokai opened to all of Maui County, Battle of the Bands that is sponsored by Monkey Pod records with recording time for the winner and much more. So we look forward to every one's participation, whether spectators or participants, young or old, so please come out and support us with not only our Molokai Youth but all our Youth, as we show them the different opportunities that are available in our society. Formula Windsurfing European Championships 2006 ![]() press release: From the 8th to the 13th of May the world will have their eyes set in Portimão! After the success achieved, in Portugal, with the Windsurfing Euro Cup 2005, IFWC – International Formula Windsurfing Class chose Portimão for the organization of the Formula Windsurfing European Championships 2006 – one of their biggest continental events. The competition will take place from the 8th to the 13th of May in Portimão, Praia da Rocha – a spot very well known by the International Windsurfing Community, thanks to its privileged conditions for competition. The organization of the event will be done by Overpower Club (www.overpower.net) and Portimão’s Marina. The 2006 Formula Windsurfing Continental Championships will gather in Portimão, Portugal, the elite of worldwide windsurfing where, thanks to the privileged conditions of this spot of the south of Europe, the sailors will be able to compete in a level 1 event in the Class’ ranking, getting the first qualifications of the season to the World Championships which will take place in September, in South Korea. posted by editors at 2:17 PM |
