2007 Ulsan PWA World Cup In May 2007 Ulsan, South Korea will host a huge watersports festival featuring - PWA World Tour Slalom 42 - Pro-Am windsurf slalom - RS:X windsurfing - Kiteboarding This is an invitation to you to come to Ulsan to join in the fun. Formula Windsurfing - World and Europe Champions Portimao ![]() (press release): In the sequence of the huge success achieved with the 2006 Formula Windsurfing Europe Championships, Portimao welcomes in 2007, the Portimao Formula Windsurfing Grand Prix - event integrated in one of the most important competitive series of Formula. This event will take place at Praia do Alvor, Portimao, between the 30th of April and the 5th of May, and it will be disputed in the following Divisions: Men, Women, Youth and Masters, and will have as Main Sponsors the Municipal Council of Portimao and ExpoArade, EM. All the famous names of world windsurfing will be present at the competition, where they will have the opportunity to test against their rivals [old and new], the benefits of the latest innovations in what concerns boards and sails. The list of pre-registered competitors shows the elite that will be present in this event. Steve Allen, from Australia - 2006 Formula World Champion, say: "...I am very excited to come back to Portimao, to have some good racing in the conditions I know it can be over there, and for preparation for the 2008 Worlds which will be there. I also enjoy the friendly hospitality, warm weather, beautiful beaches and crystal blue water making. It always a pleasure to be there!" In this regatta, we can see in action: Wojtek Brzozowski [POL 10] - with several nominations of World Champion, Willhelm Schurmann [BRA 999] - Pan-American Champion, Maris Birzulis [LAT 11], Fernando Martinez del Cerro [ESP 71], Andy Abendroth [GER 66] - National Champions in the respective countries and in the Women Division, the new Poland star, Agnieszka Pietrasik [POL 19], as well as Jozefina Rudzinska [POL 1381]. The event offers a euro 20,000 prize money, but the money and the trophies are just two of many factors which will appeal to the top competitors. For the most of them, the honour of winning the Grand Prix and score some points to the World Championships will be undoubtedly the most satisfying benefit. Portugal feels proud of being elected to organize such an event. These Championships always include lots of applicants from influent countries in the sports area.
