Kids Fun Cup Brouwersdam German windsurf enthusiast Anne Stevens has organised the very first Kids Fun Cup together with German magazine SURF and Tonix. Open for windgirls and -boys up to the age of 18 (in 2 different age classes) a slalom fun regatta will take place during the SURF Festival in Brouwersdam, Holland (Surf Festival website) as well as a freestyle super session. Maui, Hawaii (USA) - Time flies, the summer is here and soon it will be fall with one of the longest-running wave sailing events in the world returning to Maui for it's 22nd anniversary, the "2007 Aloha Classic Wave World Championships", the crown jewel of windsurfing events. This event is open to pros and amatuers a like. Since it's creation in 1984, the Aloha Classic had been the traditional final event of the Pro World tour for many years. The top ranking international competitors are invited to the 22nd Aloha Classic along with top Hawaii athletes to compete side by side. November is historically known to have the best wind and wave conditions, with trade winds blowing side shore at 15-20 knots and waves that can reach up to 10 -15 feet, the consistent trade winds and seasonally large surf make the Aloha Classic the most popular destination of the windsurfing media, spectators and athletes. Many luminaries of the sport have competed in the Aloha Classic from Robby Naish, to Pete Cabrina, Bjorn Dunkerbeck, Rush Randle, Josh Angulo, Kevin Pritchard and Jason Polakow for the men and the Moreno Twins, Karin Jaggi, Kelby Anno, Dana Dawes, Jennifer Henderson, Anne-Marie Reichmann and Angela Cochran for the women to name a few. To honour past winners of the Aloha Classic, they will be given free entry into the amateur divisions of the event, from Alex Aguera in 1984 all the way up to Josh Angulo in 2006.The historic 22nd Anniversary of the Aloha Classic brings much needed focus and attention on the youth and amateur market and will be the show case for up and coming talent around the world. In addition, the pinnacle will be the professional competition, featuring the current hot shots. They will be providing a high level of sportsmanship and excitement to the world, inspiring the next generation of windsurfers to take to the water. The Aloha Classic will include a menehune (kids) and junior division, kids starting at 9 years old all the way up to a grand masters competition.
