Damned, this girl rips... When we had the chance to sail
with Nayra Alonso last year in Fuerteventura, it became obvious how comfortable Nayra
feels in really rough high wind conditions. Just like the Ruano Moreno twins Nayra calls
the windy shores of Gran Canaria her home, and her loops are just as radical as Iballas or
Daidas – no wonder the likeable Spanish "windgirl" was able to finish top 3
last year in Sylt (PWA wave) for the first time. And most likely not for the last time.
Watch out everybody: Here comes Nayra.

- In Arinaga, Gran Canaria, between 1998 and 1999.

Waveriding…is Funny doing tricks and jumps, but the
feeling of waveriding for me is the best…
- what do you train right now?
Different things at the same time: Push loops,
improve my waveriding and spocks in both ways ( freestyle is quite hard for me!)
- favorite windsurfing spot:
Now that I have visited more places in the world,
there are a lot very good spots. But in Vargas I feel at home. So it is very confortable
sailing there.
- best music:
Whatever!!! I listen all kind of music. But I hate
heavy metal and too hard music!

best windsurfing film: "Alive"
from Francisco Goya; Polakov, best other film: Sheakespeare in love, Ali G, Dracula. A

Francisco Goya and Victor Fernandez for
waveriding, Jonas Ceballos, Daida Ruano and Victor Fernandez also for jumps. I like to
watch all the best pros in the water. Each one has something good and different styles, so
you can learn from each one.

rocks just in front of the best point of the wave

- What does windsurfing mean to you?
- Honestly, means everything to me. It
changed my life when I started and is what makes me feel alive, is what I want to do in
this life. I canīt explain what windsurfing really means to me because is a very special
personal feeling and a way of thinking about life.
